Alberto Vásquez

Research coordinator

Trained as a Lawyer at the Catholic University in Peru, Mr. Vasquez holds a Master’s degree in Law and Compared international disability policies from the National University of Ireland—Galway. He is President of SODIS, a Peruvian NGO dedicated to disabilities, and has worked as a researcher and consultant for several projects on the rights of persons with disabilities. He is also member of the Latin American Network of Psychosocial Diversity.

Hernán Bonomo

project manager

Sociologist and graphic designer by training, Mr. Bonomo is an experienced grant maker and communicator in human rights. Prior to supporting the Special Rapporteur, he worked at the Open Society Foundations in initiatives to support youth activism and education. He authored the book "Tolerancia crítica y ciudadanía activa: una introducción práctica al debate educativo", as well as articles and essays on youth issues.  

Carla Villarreal

Research Assistant

Carla is a Joseph P. Kennedy Jr. Foundation International Public Policy Fellow supporting the UN Special Rapporteur on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. Trained as a lawyer, she holds a Master’s Degree in Human Rights from the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP) and a Master of Laws from Syracuse University (New York). Carla served as a commissioner in the Peruvian Ombudsman’s Office, worked in academia and as a consultant for projects on gender equality, women’s rights and rights of persons with disabilities.
